Community Engagement Specialist - Spokane

Responsibilities & Essential Duties  

  • Building relationships with organizations, government agencies, and members of the community

  • Collecting and analyzing data to track progress and measure success

  • Assisting in the creation of marketing materials such as newsletters, etc.

  • Developing and delivering presentations and webinars

  • Coordinating and attending media events, speaking engagements, and other outreach initiatives

  • Creating and planning events and meetings

  • Submit detailed and accurate community engagement reports to share with executive leadership.

  • Establish a community engagement process and playbook for the Spokane Region.

  • Establish a community engagement training plan for new members of the community engagement team.

  • Develop strategies to harness existing relationships, identify new opportunities, and secure partnerships with community partners.

Results

  • Community engagement goals and targets are reviewed, reported on, and met on a consistent basis.

  • We have clear community engagement plans, systems, and processes that are being followed.

  • We have clear KPIs for community engagement that are being followed.

  • We have achieved strong engagement and community awareness for our health equity work in Spokane.

  • All community engagement reports are produced and submitted on time, following the community engagement plan and strategy. 

Requirements

As we’re looking for an ideal fit, our new Community Engagement Specialist will likely possess what we’ve listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, psychology, cultural studies or a relevant field.

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Has a service mindset

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks at a time and pay close attention to detail.

  • Strong digital marketing skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles.

  • Conscientious and flexible, with a strong work ethic and team-player attitude.

  • Proficient in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Canva and Asana.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Organized with attention to detail.

  • Excels at time management, planning, and processes, and the ability to adapt to change.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Computer proficiency. 

  • You’re a problem solver and think ahead to ensure any challenges don’t greatly impact project progress or outcomes.

  • Delivers well ahead of deadlines.

  • You both love working with teams and being left alone so you can produce results.

  • You love operating in a fast-moving environment and adhere to deadlines while producing high-quality work each and every time.

  • Emotionally self-regulates even during times of pressure and stress to be present for the team.

  • A quiet remote work environment, including:
